Member of the month – Gina Garcia

Gina has been with Wädi practically since day one, and we are so thrilled to have such a positive and always cheerful person in our community!
You’ll almost always find her in the evening classes – usually 2-3 minutes before they start, haha. Fun fact: Gina is the biggest Shakira fan you’ll ever meet. And whether it’s squats, cleans, or burpees – her hips really don’t lie!

1. Why CrossFit Wädenswil?
   The great atmosphere (a perfect mix of focus and fun) + the organization in the box.
2. What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit?
   Traveling (Next stop: USA), meeting friends, going out… simply enjoying life.
3. What advice would you give someone new to CrossFit Wädenswil?
   Attend the classes regularly. It doesn’t get any less challenging, but eventually, you get used to it, HAHA.
4. What kind of music do you prefer during training?
   Latino (Wik-Sound) or techno.
5. What book or movie has inspired you recently?
   The Alchemist.
6. What does a perfect day look like for you?
   Hmm… it’s summer, I have iced coffee and a Nutella croissant for breakfast, spend the day by the lake or sea with friends or family. Later in the afternoon, maybe a day party… lots of dancing, laughing, and talking. (Of course, there’s also 1 hour of CrossFit somewhere in between ;D).
7. How would you describe CrossFit Wädenswil?
   A place where you forget the daily routine and spend at least one hour without your phone or other distractions, doing something just for yourself.
8. Do you have a life motto or quote that motivates you?
   Being content means being happy.
9. How long have you been training with us?
   Pretty much since the opening. I switched from Freienbach to Wädi right at the start. It’s unbelievable that after all this time, I still can’t do a strict HSPU haha ;).
10. Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know…
    Gina / 27 / Secondary school teacher (yup, for real) / 100 sit-ups > 20 devil press /
    Any singer < Shakira / Cat < Turtle / Harry Potter > Lord of the Rings /
    Vanilla ice cream > Chocolate ice cream / Mojito < Espresso Martini
