Meet Maik – our Member of the Month for June!
You’ve probably seen Maik crushing workouts in our evening or lunchtime classes – always focused, always kind, and always giving his best.
Maik is one of those athletes who picked up high-skill movements like bar muscle-ups and ring muscle-ups within just a couple of weeks of starting CrossFit – and yet, he remains one of the most humble and grounded people you’ll meet.
He brings strength, positivity, and a calm determination to every class, and he inspires others without even trying. Whether it’s mastering a complex skill or just showing up with a great attitude, Maik is the kind of teammate every community dreams of.
We’re incredibly happy to have you at WE.FIT, Maik – thank you for being such an amazing part of our crew. Here’s to many more workouts, goals smashed, and laughs shared!
1.How did you discover WE.FIT – and what do you remember from your very first class?
My wife was already here and she told me about how good it was to go to the box. In my first class I remember that I did almost everything wrong. I didn’t even know how to get off the bike.
2.What makes WE.FIT special to you? Why do you feel at home here?
The people. For me coming from another continent. I really enjoy coming to a place where people treat you like home.
3.What’s one meal you could eat every day and never get tired of?
A sandwich in any of its variations ( Number 1 fan of Swiss bread).
4.Is there a movie, book, or series that’s really stuck with or inspired you?
“The Last Dance” Documentary.
5.What does a perfect rest day look like for you?
Have breakfast while watching an NBA game in the morning, take a power nap in the afternoon and watch a movie in the evening. (Normally I fall asleep watching the movie).
6. What do you do for work – and what excites you about it?
I’m the Art Director/Graphic Designer of the Luminox watch brand and what I enjoy most is that it’s 10 minutes away from home.
7. What’s your favorite song to train to?
I have two:
Levels – Avicii and Jungle (Remix) – Jamie N Commons, JAY-Z, X Ambassadors
8. If you could have one superpower for your workouts, what would it be?
Being able to switch to SHM (Super Hip Mobility) whenever I want.
9. What’s one skill you’d love to master (fitness-related or not)?Learning new languages.
10.Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know yet …
I like a green mango with salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar.
