Meet Philipp – our Member of the Month May!!!
Philipp is an integral part of our evening classes – always with a smile on his face, good energy and the necessary ambition for every workout. Whether CrossFit, Rookie, HYROX or Partner WOD: Philipp is fully committed and shows how much fun progress can be.
We are incredibly happy to have Philipp with us – and look forward to many more training moments together!
1. how did you come to We.Fit – and how was your first day with us?
When I moved to Horgen about a year ago, I was looking for a sport that I enjoyed. Then I came across Crossfit. I immediately enjoyed my first trial training session, even though I suffered a little the next day.
2. what makes We.Fit special for you and why do you feel so comfortable here?
The training is simply super varied, the coaches are friendly and professional and the community is just great.
3. what is your absolute favorite food that you could just eat all the time?
I love to eat and could basically eat all the time. That’s why I have to come to you ;-). It’s a bit difficult to name just one favorite food. I love international cuisine and I also like to try new things.
4. imagine: We.Fit gets a mascot – which animal would it be and why?
I would go for an alpaca. They seem cozy and fluffy but can be extremely tough. They tend to be calm and focused but still have power and can really get going. They are also very social animals, which fits in well with a Crossfit community. They also look cool and don’t care what others think about their appearance.
5. if you had a superpower for your workouts – what would it be?
Mine would be “knowing every language” then I could swear in every language when burpees come up in workouts again, sorry but I hate burpees ;-).
6. what do you do for a living – and what excites you about it?
I work for a company that sells products and services related to compressed air. I was a service technician there for a long time, but have now been a project technician for 3 years. I deal with technical issues on larger projects, especially when there are technical problems. I am also responsible for training technical support in the office.
What excites me about it is simply solving technical problems and I also enjoy teaching other people something
7. is there a person who has strongly influenced or inspired you?
There is not one person who has influenced me, it is rather my whole environment, my family and my friends.
They accompanied me through highs and lows and gave me the necessary kick in the butt when I needed it.
8. is there a book, movie or series that has made a lasting impression on you?
I can’t think of anything right now…
9.what does your perfect Sunday look like?
Sleep in, drink a good coffee and enjoy a great breakfast. Then just let the day drift by and see what happens.
There doesn’t always have to be action on a Sunday. There’s enough going on all week, so I enjoy just doing nothing on a Sunday and not having any appointments.
10.tell us something about yourself that we don’t know yet …
I’m 36 and originally from Germany, from Coburg to be precise, which is in beautiful Upper Franconia. But I’ve been in Switzerland for 16 years now. Originally the “Project Switzerland” was just an adventure that was supposed to last two years, but now it’s become a bit longer. I’ve fallen in love with the country.
Thank you very much for this great interview!
We are very happy to have you in our community, Philipp! Your dedication, your humor and your friendly nature make our community even better. Stay tuned, push your limits and enjoy every moment – both in and out of the box!
